1,000 Mile Road Trip: Somerset, Devon And Cornwall Part 3

On the drive to St Ives I came across a disused Tin Mine Engine House – the first of many to see in this part of Cornwall.

Being a fan of Tate Modern in London I had to check out Tate St Ives.

Then wondered around the pretty cobbled streets.

VW Camper loaf!

Visited The RNLI Life Boat Station to buy Camper Christmas Cards which I had spotted earlier on my road trip.

Loved these quaint Little Shore Shelter Lodges reminding me of Ruby – small is beautiful!

A Sausage roll stop at S.H.Ferrell & Son Bakers filled me up before a short drive to Zennor.

Met a Zebra Camper in Zennor

Then stopping in Ruby’s tracks at Carn Galver:

Tin Mines

Finally Ballowell Barrow was our resting place for the night and what a stunning location high up on the Cliffs edge.

The couple I met in Bude popped by for coffee and left me their BritStops Guide and sticker. Unfortunately they felt their MotorHome was a bit too big for pub car parks and having never used it, knowing I was going to join in 2018 decided to give it to me as a gift. There are a lot of good people in this world you just need to take the time to say Hello and pass the time of day with them.

I went to sleep very excited as tomorrow I would be going to Lands End – my ultimate goal when I set off on this road trip.

Another fill up, this time at Trewellard Garage – a Vintage PitStop perfect for Ruby.

Earlier in my travels the Sales Assistant at FatFace had advised me to visit Sennin Cove and then walk to Land’s End so not to miss out on the stunning scenery and coastline along with big waves. So I had breakfast in the car park and watched the fierce waves crashing against the Harbour walls.

A Bentley Bentayga pulled up so I reversed Ruby along side it to measure them both up…

VW T2 Bay Vs “VW” Bentley Bentayga
You could see the family resemblance in those eyes but Ruby was the winner this time – Style Kudos, Heritage, Luxury, Interior, Cabin, Kitchen, Diningroom, Lounge and Bedroom.

She is hard to beat!

A brisk walk to Land’s End passing H.M.Coastguard Lookout.

Ship wreck:

Army out training in Camouflage

Land’s End in the Distance

Back at the Sennen Cove – Now I need to drive Ruby to get her photo taken at Land’s End

En route The First Inn in England

Lands End – Ruby’s Goal Complete.

I also created an illustration to commemorate Ruby arriving at Lands End

With Lands End Conquered and the sun and blue skyies out I would now drive Ruby on to Manack Theatre.

A short drive out of Land’s End Escalls Chapel caught my eye with its surf boards for a Cross.

Next stop The Minack Theatre

Enjoying my first Cornish Pasty

Camper spotting in Penzance

Followed up with American Classic Car spotting

Trip to The Jubilee Art Deco Lido

Local Pirate Art

Spirit of Ecstasy Statue

The Egyptian House – Amazing architecture

A drink and meal in The Admiral Benbow

Then a night parked up at Kynance Cove National Trust Car Park.

Unfortunately having taken a wrong turn last night Ruby has a sore Bum.

But how about that view…

Once I had a coffee and croissant I was off again to Lizard Point.
